Gerber Good Start Protect Plus is a ready-to-feed infant formula designed for easy digestion and immune support. It has a smooth, milky texture and a mild, slightly sweet taste that is gentle on a baby's palate. Nutritionally, it provides a balanced blend of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, with added HMO (Human Milk Oligosaccharide) for gut health.

↓ Full nutritionParents love it for its convenience and the peace of mind that comes with a trusted, science-backed formula. The gentle formulation is often praised for being well-tolerated by babies with sensitive stomachs.
As a formula, it is a processed food product and not a substitute for breastfeeding when possible. The ready-to-feed format is more expensive and generates more packaging waste than powder. Tip: For cost and environmental savings, consider using the powder version when at home and reserving ready-to-feed for travel or emergencies.
The 'HMO' in Protect Plus stands for Human Milk Oligosaccharide, a complex sugar that is the third most abundant component in breast milk and acts as a prebiotic to feed beneficial gut bacteria.

What is the difference between GOOD START PROTECT and PROTECT PLUS?
PROTECT PLUS contains the added ingredient 2'-FL HMO (Human Milk Oligosaccharide), which is designed to support immune health. PROTECT does not contain HMO.
Can I warm the ready-to-feed bottle?
Yes. Place the unopened bottle in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes or use a bottle warmer. Never microwave a bottle, as it can create dangerous hot spots.
How long can a opened bottle be kept?
Once the bottle or can is opened, any unused formula should be covered and refrigerated. Use it within 48 hours. Discard any formula left in the bottle after a feeding.
NRF9.3 index — Fulgoni, Keast & Drewnowski, 2009. Computed from USDA nutrients.
Composite of energy density (Rolls et al., 1999), protein & fiber satiety, minus sugar. A calculated heuristic — ranks satiety-per-calorie, not a clinical measure.
Sodium-to-potassium ratio: 0.25 (lower is better — aim for ≤ 1)
Sodium:potassium per WHO potassium guidance. Computed from USDA nutrients.
