Ingredients
1 sesame seed hamburger bun
1/4 lb ground beef (80/20)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 slice American cheese
2 slices tomato
2 slices dill pickle
1/4 cup shredded lettuce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
Instructions
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Divide ground beef into a ball, then flatten into a patty slightly larger than the bun. Season with salt and pepper.
Grill or cook patty for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top with cheese slice and cover to melt.
Toast the bun cut-side down on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then add ketchup and chopped onion.
Place the patty with cheese on the bottom bun, then top with tomato slices, pickles, and shredded lettuce.
Close with the top bun and serve immediately.
Tips
For a flame-grilled flavor, cook on an outdoor grill or use a cast-iron skillet.
