- 1 lemon, peeled and seeded
- 1 lime, peeled and seeded
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, peeled (or 1/2 tsp ground turmeric)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Juice the oranges, lemon, and lime using a citrus juicer or by hand. Transfer juice to a blender.
- Add the ginger, turmeric, cayenne (if using), and honey (if using) to the blender.
- Blend on high until smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a liquid measuring cup or bowl, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Pour into shot glasses (about 2 oz each) and serve immediately.
Tips
- Store any leftover shot in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; shake before serving.
- Adjust sweetness and spice to your taste.
- For a milder shot, reduce ginger and turmeric by half.
