Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup milk
2 cups frozen green peas
Instructions
For the Salisbury steak: In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into 4 oval patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, whisk together beef broth and cornstarch. Bring to a simmer, then return patties to skillet. Cover and cook on low for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook frozen peas according to package directions; drain.
Assemble TV dinners: Place one patty with gravy on each plate, add a scoop of mashed potatoes and a portion of peas.
Tips
For a crispy potato topping, broil the mashed potatoes for 2-3 minutes after assembling.
Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers and reheated in the microwave.
