Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, panko, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch-thick patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging.
Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
During the last minute of cooking, toast the buns in the skillet or on the grill.
Serve burgers on toasted buns with desired toppings.
Tips
To keep burgers moist, avoid pressing down on them while cooking.
Burgers can be grilled outdoors over medium heat for the same amount of time.
Leftover cooked patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
