Ingredients
1 lb sushi-grade tuna, diced into 1/4-inch cubes
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
1 small shallot, minced
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
2 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
1 avocado, diced (optional)
Salt and white pepper to taste
Wonton chips or crostini for serving
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, ginger, and shallot.
Add the diced tuna and gently toss to coat. Season with salt and white pepper.
Fold in sesame seeds and cilantro. If using avocado, gently fold in just before serving.
Chill in refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serve cold with wonton chips or crostini.
Tips
For best results, use very fresh sushi-grade tuna and keep all ingredients cold.
Can be prepared up to 1 hour ahead; keep refrigerated and add avocado just before serving.
Serve immediately after assembling to maintain texture.
