Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup loose-leaf Thai tea mix (or 4 bags black tea + 1 star anise + 1/2 tsp cardamom + 1/2 tsp vanilla extract)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk or half-and-half
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add Thai tea mix (or black tea bags and spices). Steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
- Fill 4 glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled tea over the ice, filling each glass about 2/3 full.
- Top each glass with 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk. Stir gently to combine, creating a layered look.
- Serve immediately with a straw.
