Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 corn tortillas (6-inch)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side, or wrap in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds.
- Assemble tacos: spoon beef mixture into each tortilla, then top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.
Tips
- For a healthier option, use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
- Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce on the side.
- Leftover beef mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
