Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
8 small flour or corn tortillas (for tacos) or 4 large flour tortillas (for burritos)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup salsa
Instructions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Warm tortillas according to package directions.
For tacos: fill each tortilla with beef mixture, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. For burritos: place beef mixture in center of large tortilla, top with toppings, fold in sides, and roll up tightly.
Serve immediately.

Customize with additional toppings like guacamole, jalapeños, or black beans.
Leftover beef mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
