Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
Instructions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce and water; stir to combine. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve warm in taco shells with your favorite toppings.
