Ingredients
4 brioche slider buns, split
4 large eggs
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
8 maple breakfast sausage patties (about 1 oz each)
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patties until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low. Crack eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until whites are set but yolks are still runny, about 3-4 minutes. Flip if desired.
Meanwhile, spread the cut sides of the brioche buns with softened butter. Toast in a separate skillet or on a griddle until golden brown.
Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with 2 sausage patties per bun, then a fried egg. Drizzle with maple syrup and cover with the top bun.
Serve immediately.
Tips
For a less runny yolk, cook eggs over easy or medium.
You can substitute turkey sausage patties for a lighter option.
These sliders are best enjoyed fresh but can be assembled ahead and reheated in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
