Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 12-inch cast iron skillet or round baking pan.
- Divide dough into two pieces, one slightly larger. Roll larger piece into a 14-inch circle and place in skillet, letting excess hang over edges.
- Spread ricotta over dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and sauce. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder.
- Roll remaining dough into a 12-inch circle and place on top. Pinch edges to seal. Trim excess dough and crimp edges.
- Brush top with beaten egg. Cut a few slits in top to vent steam.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing.
Tips
- For extra crispiness, brush the crust with olive oil before baking.
- Leftover pizza can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
- Customize fillings: use cooked sausage, mushrooms, or spinach instead of pepperoni.
