Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
12 large celery stalks (or 24 large white mushrooms, stems removed)
2 tablespoons pine nuts or chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, parsley, chives, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.
If using celery: Cut celery stalks into 3-inch pieces. If using mushrooms: Clean mushroom caps and pat dry.
Spoon or pipe the cheese mixture into the celery pieces or mushroom caps. Smooth the tops.
Optional: Sprinkle with pine nuts or walnuts for added crunch.
Arrange on a serving platter and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Tips
Can be prepared up to 4 hours ahead and kept refrigerated.
For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
