Ingredients
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Prick the surface all over with a fork.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. The center should still be pale.
Remove from oven and immediately cut into squares or fingers while still warm. Let cool completely in the pan before removing.
