Ingredients
- 1 sheet (about 9x9 inches) puff pastry, thawed
- 1 lb (450g) pork sausage meat
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sausage meat, onion, garlic, sage, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a 10x12 inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise into two 5x12 inch strips.
- Divide sausage mixture in half. Shape each half into a log along the center of each pastry strip.
- Brush one long edge of each pastry strip with beaten egg. Fold the other edge over the filling and press to seal. Crimp edges with a fork.
- Cut each log into 4 equal pieces (about 3 inches each). Place on prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush tops with beaten egg. Cut small slits on top for steam vents.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
Tips
- Serve warm with ketchup or brown sauce.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or chopped fresh parsley to the sausage mixture.
