Ingredients
1 English muffin, split
1 sausage patty (about 2 oz)
1 large egg
1 slice American cheese
1 tablespoon butter, softened
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Toast the English muffin halves until golden. Spread butter on each half.
Cook the sausage patty in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, crack the egg and cook sunny-side up or to your preference. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the cheese slice on the bottom half of the toasted muffin. Top with the sausage patty, then the cooked egg. Cover with the top muffin half.
Serve immediately.
Tips
For a runny yolk, cook the egg just until the white is set but the yolk is still soft.
You can substitute with turkey sausage or a vegetarian patty.
Add a slice of tomato or a few spinach leaves for extra freshness.
