Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup frozen onion rings
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Cook onion rings according to package directions until crispy.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than buns. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Grill or pan-fry patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side for medium. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: spread barbecue sauce on bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, patty with cheese, and top with onion rings. Add top bun and serve.
Tips
Use thick-cut onion rings for extra crunch.
Let patties rest for 2 minutes after cooking to retain juices.
Warm the barbecue sauce slightly for easier spreading.
