Ingredients
1 cup milk (any kind)
2 tablespoons pumpkin purée
1 tablespoon sugar (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 shot espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, pumpkin purée, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until steaming (do not boil).
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Pour the hot milk mixture into a blender and blend for 15 seconds until frothy. (Alternatively, use a milk frother or whisk vigorously.)
Pour the espresso or coffee into a mug, then top with the frothed milk mixture.
Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon.
Tips
For a dairy-free version, use almond, oat, or soy milk.
Adjust sweetness to your preference; add more or less sugar.
To make a larger batch, multiply ingredients and reheat gently.
