Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup chocolate sauce
1/2 cup whipped cream
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and cook without stirring until mixture turns a deep amber color, about 7-9 minutes.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in pecans, salt, and vanilla. Immediately pour onto prepared baking sheet and spread into a thin layer. Let cool completely, about 10 minutes.
Once hardened, break praline into small pieces.
For each sundae, place a scoop of ice cream in a bowl, drizzle with chocolate sauce, sprinkle with praline pieces, and top with whipped cream.
Tips
Store leftover praline in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
For a twist, use salted butter in the praline for a salted caramel flavor.
Warm the chocolate sauce slightly for easier drizzling.
