Ingredients
1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz)
3 oz sliced pepperoni
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside for at least 30 minutes.
On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a floured pizza peel or parchment paper.
Spread pizza sauce evenly over dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over sauce, then arrange pepperoni slices on top.
Drizzle olive oil over the pizza, then sprinkle oregano and red pepper flakes (if using).
Slide pizza onto preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly, 12-15 minutes.
Let cool for 2 minutes, then slice and serve.
Tips
For a crispier crust, preheat the baking sheet or stone for at least 30 minutes.
If using parchment paper, slide it onto the stone; remove paper after 5 minutes of baking.
Leftover pizza can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or oven.
