Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup M&M's (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter over the batter, then swirl with a knife. Sprinkle half of the M&M's over the top.
Carefully spread the remaining batter over the peanut butter layer. Drop remaining peanut butter on top and swirl again. Sprinkle remaining M&M's on top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Tips
For easier swirling, warm the peanut butter in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
For extra peanut butter flavor, use peanut butter M&M's.
