Ingredients
2 slices thick bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/2 cup leftover turkey gravy
6 ounces sliced cooked turkey breast
1/4 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
1/2 cup leftover stuffing (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven broiler to high. Place bread slices on a baking sheet and toast under broiler for 1-2 minutes per side until golden. Remove from oven.
Spread butter on one side of each toast slice. Place turkey slices evenly on top of buttered toast.
Warm gravy in a small saucepan or microwave until hot. If using stuffing, warm it separately.
Spoon warm gravy over the turkey, allowing it to soak into the bread. Add a dollop of cranberry sauce on top. If using stuffing, place it alongside or on top.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Tips
Use day-old bread for a sturdier base that holds up to gravy.
Leftover mashed potatoes make a great side dish.
Substitute chicken or roast beef for turkey if desired.
