Ingredients
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons milk or water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/4 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella)
1/4 cup diced ham or cooked vegetables (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until frothy.
Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
For omelet: Pour egg mixture into skillet. Let cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until edges are set. Sprinkle cheese and fillings over half. Fold the other half over and slide onto plate.
For frittata: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pour egg mixture into oven-safe skillet. Sprinkle cheese and fillings evenly. Cook on stovetop for 2 minutes, then transfer to oven and bake 8-10 minutes until puffed and golden. Cut into wedges.
Tips
Use room temperature eggs for fluffier texture.
For a healthier version, use egg whites or reduce cheese.
Leftover frittata can be refrigerated and reheated.
