Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, tightly packed
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, tightly packed
- 1/2 small onion, roughly chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, seeded and chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons water (or more as needed)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Add more water a tablespoon at a time if too thick.
- Taste and adjust salt, lemon juice, or green chili as desired.
- Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
Tips
- For a thicker chutney, reduce water or add a tablespoon of yogurt.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Serve with samosas, pakoras, grilled meats, or as a sandwich spread.
