Ingredients
2 beef patties (3 oz each, about 1/4 inch thick)
1 slice American cheese
1 hamburger bun
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon diced white onion
4 dill pickle slices
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Season the beef patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
Place the cheese slice on one patty during the last minute of cooking, then remove both patties from heat.
Toast the bun cut-side down on the griddle until lightly golden, about 30 seconds.
Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun. Top with the cheese-topped patty, then the second patty. Add diced onions and pickle slices. Cover with the top bun.
Serve immediately.
Tips
For a more authentic taste, use 80/20 ground beef.
Press the patties thin for faster cooking and better texture.
Serve with fries and a drink for the full experience.
