Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
4 hamburger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices American cheese (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine ground chicken, panko, mayonnaise, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick.
Place flour on a plate. Dredge each patty in flour, shaking off excess.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
Toast hamburger buns in the skillet or oven until lightly golden.
Assemble sandwiches: spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add lettuce, place chicken patty, top with cheese if desired, and close with top bun.
Tips
For extra crispiness, double-dredge the patties in flour.
Store leftover patties in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a toaster oven.
