Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, honey, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Place chicken or pork in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, turning to coat evenly.
Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for chicken and up to 8 hours for pork.
Remove meat from marinade and discard any remaining marinade. Grill or cook as desired.
For best results, let meat come to room temperature for 15 minutes before grilling.
Tips
This marinade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
For a spicier kick, increase red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
Reserve a small amount of marinade before adding raw meat to use as a basting sauce during grilling.
