Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour, heat-treated (see tip)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup M&M candies, plus extra for garnish
Instructions
Heat-treat the flour: spread flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes, then let cool completely. This ensures the flour is safe to eat raw.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the M&M candies gently.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with extra M&Ms if desired. Serve immediately with graham crackers, pretzels, or apple slices.
Tips
For a fluffier texture, use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.
If you prefer a sweeter dip, add an extra tablespoon of brown sugar.
