Ingredients
1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
1 cup granulated sugar
6 cups cold water
Ice cubes
Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature to make simple syrup.
In a large pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and remaining 5 cups of cold water. Stir well.
Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired.
Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a few sprigs of mint or a handful of berries to the pitcher.
