4 black tea bags
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
2 cups cold water
2 cups ice cubes
Lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved. Let cool to room temperature.
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea mixture, lemon juice, and 2 cups cold water. Stir well.
Add ice cubes and stir again. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness if desired.
Serve in glasses over ice, garnished with lemon slices and mint sprigs.
Tips
For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags for up to 10 minutes.
Make ahead and refrigerate without ice; add ice just before serving.
To make a fizzy version, replace 1 cup of cold water with club soda.
