Ingredients
2 cups water
10-12 fresh tulsi (holy basil) leaves
1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
2-3 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
1-2 tsp honey or jaggery (to taste)
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil over medium heat.
Add tulsi leaves, ginger slices, and crushed cardamom pods. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain the tea into cups.
Stir in honey or jaggery until dissolved. Add lemon juice if desired.
Serve warm.
Tips
For a stronger flavor, let the tea steep for 10 minutes.
Can be made with dried tulsi leaves; use 1 tablespoon.
Refrigerate leftover tea for up to 2 days; reheat gently.
