Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 small hamburger buns
4 slices American cheese
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 tbsp ketchup
2 large russet potatoes
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 apples, sliced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Cut potatoes into thin fries, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Spread on baking sheet and bake 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
While fries bake, divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into thin patties slightly larger than buns. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 160°F. In the last minute, top each with a cheese slice and cover to melt.
Toast buns lightly in the skillet or toaster. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, patty with cheese, ketchup, top bun.
Serve each burger with a portion of fries and apple slices.
Tips
For picky eaters, omit tomato or lettuce.
Fries can be seasoned with paprika for extra flavor.
Store leftover components separately and reheat burger in skillet.
