Ingredients
1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
1 cup diced cooked ham
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp edges. Prick bottom with fork. Line with parchment and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove weights and parchment, bake 5 more minutes until lightly golden. Cool slightly.
Sprinkle ham and cheese evenly over the bottom of the pre-baked crust.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
Pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until the center is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
Tips
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
Serve warm or at room temperature with a side salad.
