Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese (optional)
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 1 Roma tomato, diced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 patties, slightly larger than the buns.
- Grill patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium, adding cheese slices during the last minute if desired.
- While patties cook, halve avocados, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a bowl. Mash with a fork to desired consistency.
- Stir in lime juice, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, tomato, and salt to taste.
- Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
- Assemble burgers: place patty on bottom bun, top with generous amount of guacamole, then top bun.
