Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110°F)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
8 thin slices prosciutto, halved lengthwise
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and yeast. Add warm water and olive oil; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Punch down dough and divide into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 10-inch long rope. Place on prepared sheet, spacing 1 inch apart.
Brush breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and rosemary.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Wrap each breadstick with a half-slice of prosciutto, slightly overlapping. Serve immediately.
Tips
Breadsticks can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days; wrap with prosciutto just before serving.
For extra flavor, add a pinch of black pepper or red pepper flakes to the dough.
Prosciutto can be replaced with thinly sliced salami or speck.
