Ingredients
4 large navel oranges (or other sweet oranges)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, to balance sweetness)
Instructions
Roll each orange on the counter under your palm to soften them and release juices.
Cut the oranges in half crosswise (through the equator).
Juice the oranges using a citrus juicer or reamer, collecting the juice in a bowl.
Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp, if desired.
Stir in lemon juice if using. Serve immediately over ice or chilled.
Tips
For best flavor, use room temperature oranges.
If you prefer pulp, skip straining or reserve some pulp to stir back in.
Refrigerate any leftover juice in an airtight container for up to 2 days; shake before serving.
