Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough, at room temperature
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1/2 cup fig jam or preserves
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
6 fresh figs, stemmed and quartered
4 ounces prosciutto, torn into pieces
1/4 cup balsamic glaze
1/4 cup fresh arugula (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside for at least 30 minutes.
On a floured surface, stretch or roll pizza dough into a 12-inch round. Transfer to a floured pizza peel or parchment paper.
Brush dough with 1 tablespoon olive oil, then spread fig jam evenly over the surface, leaving a 1-inch border.
Arrange mozzarella slices over the jam, then top with fig quarters. Season with salt and pepper.
Slide pizza onto preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from oven and immediately top with prosciutto pieces. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Sprinkle with arugula if using. Slice and serve.
Tips
For a crispier crust, par-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
If fresh figs are unavailable, use dried figs rehydrated in warm water.
