Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in rolled oats until evenly distributed.
Spread the crumble mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and fragrant.
Let cool completely on the baking sheet. The crumble will crisp up as it cools.
To serve, sprinkle generously over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Tips
Store leftover crumble in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
For extra flavor, add 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) with the oats.
This crumble also works well over yogurt, fruit crisps, or baked apples.
