Ingredients
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup whole milk
8 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo), plus more for garnish
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup (optional)
Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
Place the ice cream, milk, and 8 cookies in a blender. Add chocolate syrup if using.
Blend on low speed until the cookies are broken into small pieces and the mixture is thick and creamy. Do not over-blend; you want some cookie chunks.
Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick, or more ice cream if too thin.
Pour into two glasses. Top with whipped cream and garnish with a crushed cookie or a whole cookie.
Serve immediately with a straw.
Tips
For an extra-thick milkshake, use less milk or add a few ice cubes.
You can substitute chocolate ice cream for a double-chocolate version.
If you don't have a blender, crush the cookies in a bag and whisk with ice cream and milk.
