Ingredients
1 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers or graham crackers (about 30 wafers or 12 graham crackers)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, combine crushed cookies and sugar.
Pour melted butter over the mixture and stir until all crumbs are evenly moistened.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan or pie plate.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until set and lightly golden. Cool completely before filling.
Tips
For a chocolate crust, substitute chocolate wafer cookies or Oreo crumbs (cream removed).
If the crust crumbles, add 1-2 tablespoons more melted butter.
Cool crust completely before adding cheesecake filling to prevent sogginess.
