Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Place ham cut-side down on a rack in a roasting pan. Score the surface in a diamond pattern about 1/4-inch deep. If desired, stud each diamond with a whole clove.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cola, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and black pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  3. Brush about 1/3 of the glaze over the ham. Reserve remaining glaze for basting.
  4. Bake ham for 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours (about 15 minutes per pound), basting with the reserved glaze every 30 minutes. If ham starts to brown too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
  5. Ham is done when internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) for a fully cooked ham. Remove from oven and let rest 15 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with pan juices or extra glaze on the side.
