Ingredients
12 chicken wings (about 1.5 lbs), tips removed and separated into drumettes and flats
1 can (12 oz) cola (not diet)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
1 green onion, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels.
Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add wings in a single layer and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess oil if needed.
Add garlic and ginger, stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in cola, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove lid and increase heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the wings, about 5-8 minutes. The wings should be glossy and sticky.
Transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion if desired.
Tips
For extra stickiness, you can add a teaspoon of honey or sugar at the end.
Serve with steamed rice and a side of blanched vegetables.
Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet.
