Ingredients
- 6 slices white or whole wheat bread, toasted
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 8 slices cooked turkey breast
- 4 slices crispy cooked bacon
- 4 leaves lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
- 4 slices tomato
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on one side of each of 4 toast slices. Leave the remaining 2 slices plain (they will be the middle layer).
- On a plate, place 2 of the mayonnaise-side-up slices. Top each with 2 lettuce leaves, 2 tomato slices, and season with salt and pepper.
- Place a plain toast slice on top of each sandwich. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on the top of each plain slice.
- Layer each with 4 slices of turkey and 2 slices of bacon.
- Top with the remaining 2 mayonnaise-side-down toast slices (mayonnaise side facing down).
- Secure each sandwich with toothpicks and cut diagonally into quarters. Serve immediately.
Tips
- For extra flavor, add a slice of cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss) between the turkey and bacon.
- If making ahead, keep components separate and assemble just before serving to prevent sogginess.
