Ingredients
3 slices thick-cut bacon
2 slices white or sourdough bread
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 leaves iceberg or romaine lettuce
2 slices ripe tomato
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each toast slice.
Layer lettuce leaves on one slice of toast, then top with tomato slices. Season tomato with salt and pepper.
Arrange the bacon strips on top of the tomato, then close the sandwich with the remaining toast slice, mayonnaise side down.
Cut the sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, use pepper-crusted bacon or add a slice of avocado.
Serve with kettle-cooked potato chips and a pickle spear.
If making ahead, keep components separate and assemble just before serving to prevent sogginess.
