Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, packed
- 1/2 small onion, roughly chopped
- 1-2 green chilies (serrano or Thai), stemmed
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons water (or more as needed)
Instructions
- Combine mint, cilantro, onion, green chilies, lemon juice, salt, and sugar in a blender or food processor.
- Add 2 tablespoons water and blend until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Add more water 1 tablespoon at a time if too thick.
- Taste and adjust salt, lemon juice, or chilies as desired. Transfer to a serving bowl.
Tips
- For a creamier chutney, add 2 tablespoons yogurt or 1 tablespoon roasted peanuts.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
