Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in boiling water until batter is smooth (batter will be thin).
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes, then invert onto rack to cool completely.
For glaze: heat cream in a small saucepan until simmering. Remove from heat, add chocolate chips and butter; let stand 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Place cooled cake on a serving plate. Pour glaze over top, letting it drip down sides. Let set at least 30 minutes before serving.
Tips
For extra shine, add 1 tablespoon corn syrup to the glaze.
Store covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Serve with fresh berries or whipped cream if desired.
