Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until combined.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually stir into the butter mixture until just blended.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
