Ingredients
2 cups cooked shredded chicken
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
12 corn tortillas (6-inch)
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, green onions, sour cream, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Warm tortillas in a microwave or on a dry skillet until pliable.
Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture along the center of each tortilla. Roll tightly into a cylinder and secure with a toothpick.
Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry flautas in batches, seam-side down, until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Drain on paper towels. Remove toothpicks before serving.
Tips
Serve with guacamole, salsa, or sour cream.
To bake instead of fry: place flautas seam-side down on a greased baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes.
Leftover flautas can be reheated in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
