Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 cups shredded green cabbage
1/2 cup shredded carrot
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp sugar
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions
In a bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 patties.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Add shredded cabbage and carrot, toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster. Place a patty on each bottom bun, top with coleslaw, and cover with top bun. Serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a slice of cheese on the patty during the last minute of cooking.
Coleslaw can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
If using frozen ground chicken, thaw completely before mixing.
