Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
4 burger buns, split and toasted
1 large ripe avocado, sliced
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices tomato
4 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
Lightly toast burger buns in the skillet or toaster.
Spread mayonnaise or Greek yogurt on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, chicken patty, and avocado slices. Close with top bun and serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, add 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or Dijon mustard to the patty mixture.
If using Greek yogurt, mix with a squeeze of lemon juice for a tangy sauce.
Avocado can be mashed and spread instead of sliced for a creamier texture.
